Our History reminds us of where we have come from.
Our mission reminds us of where we are going!
Salem Community Baptist Church was founded in 1952, out of a desire to be a gospel presence for the people of Salem Community. Much has changed in the 70+ years since, but the gospel, and our desire to present it to our neighbors, has not.
In 2020, Salem Community Baptist Church began a process of intentional transition and revitalization. Just a few weeks later, our world was rocked by a global pandemic, but God has been good and faithful to sustain us. In the years since, we've been hard at work, improving our facilities with a new roof, remodeled bathrooms, a new picnic shelter, and a new playground. We've drafted and adopted a new mission statement: "We are a family of believer living out the gospel together in our homes, work, and community." We've also relaunched our children and youth program, realigned our ministry and outreach efforts, and simplified our structure to keep the mission at the front and center of all that we do.
We are not a perfect church, but we love God, we love His word, we love one another, and we love our neighbors. We seek to truly be the family of God right here in rural Nash County. We would love for you to become a part of our family, and for you to become a part of the story God is telling here at Salem!
