Join us this Fall for a church-wide journey through The New City Catechism, a new resource aimed at helping children and adults learn the ancient doctrines of the Christian faith via 52 questions and answers. Beginning Sunday, September 4th, online and printed resources will be available for every family and household to participate, as well as regular events at Salem Community Baptist Church intended to foster friendship, fellowship, and spiritual formation for children and families.
In addition to the mobile apps for Apple and Android, there is also a New City Catechism Web App. The apps include the full contents of the children and adult catechisms, as well as a scripture reading, comments from theologians throughout church history, and prayer suggestions. These weekly readings are a great way to begin a family worship time, spur spiritual discussions over meals, and/or to sprinkle through the week as opportunities arise. Printed copies of the children's catechism will be available for every child, and weekly printed resources will be available by request.
Adults will also be working through the catechism on Wednesday nights, with discussion on the questions and answers, as well as the scriptures and commentary. Elements of the catechism, including the question and answer of the week, will be included in our Sunday morning worship time.
